A Milestone Birthday is a very special time to celebrate with your love ones. It is one of the most popular slideshow presentation which, I create and it is always a hit with any audience.

I have made many Birthday Slideshows and it is one of the best ways to Celebrate Life.

Here is a list of tips and ideas, I prepared to help you plan and organise your photo slideshow.

  1. Plan Ahead of Time

    Make sure you organise your photos and videos well ahead of time. It takes time to gather all your photos to include for a slideshow. Don’t forget to check with family and friends for photos you might not know exist.

  2. Organise your Time

    Will you be showing the slideshow at a venue during the birthday celebration. Once you set the date for the venue, make sure your slideshow is completed before the actual date. More importantly, make sure you test your DVD or USB at the venue, well ahead of time and even before the actual day.

  3. Prepare your Slideshow

    Once your photos and videos are organised, you need to decide firstly, if you are going to create the slideshow yourself or do you prefer to engage a professional. Both are excellent choices. There are many free programs out there for you to use. However, if you lack time to do it yourself, you might want to hire a professional to do the job for you.

  4. Length of Slideshow

    It is better to keep your slideshow between 9 – 15 minutes, if you are presenting it to an audience. This way, you maintain their attention.

  5. Choose and Arrange your Photos

    Sort your photos in this order if possible.

    • Birth;
    • Childhood;
    • Teens;
    • Adult;
    • Marriage.

    Landscape photos will fill your screen but Portrait photos will fill a section only.

If your photos were taken in a series, use them to  create a photo montage or photo collage to make your slideshow spectacular. Do not forget to include a special message or highlight achievements. Even a short description about their special journey.

Your aim in creating a Birthday Slideshow is to tell a story about this special person, to captivate your audience. When you arrange and choose photos, make sure they say something about this person and to celebrate their life.
