Mention YouTube in my home and everyone just springs up with excitement.

See in my family, we all are stimulated by visuals and music. I know that we are not alone.

YouTube is the place to search, if you want to know or learn anything. It is a great tool for learning where as previously, you had to look through books or take courses or know someone who knew what they were doing. It can be used for leisure as well as entertainment etc… It is amazing that there is so much information available.

The History of YouTube

The domain YouTube was activated on 14 February 2005 and it became the fastest growing site on the web. It housed over 50,000 videos with over 10 million engaged viewers. In October 2006, Google bought over YouTube. There are so many videos uploaded onto YouTube every minute and every second.

Checklist for Using SEO for Videos Uploaded to YouTube

  • Use your keyword in your video title;
  • Write longer descriptions and use keywords naturally, a few times without over using them;
  • Remember to add your website link in the description;
  • ¬†When you orignially create your video, save it with a keyword in your title, before uploading it;
  • Add annotations within your video to stimulate action;
  • If you choose to add transcripts of your videos, make it naturally rich with keywords;
  • Start your video with a title or message to include a keyword in the first 10 or 15 seconds of the viewing;
  • Instruct and educate your audience on their next step, to influence a desired action, you want for them to take. YOUR CALL TO ACTION!!!
  • Thank them for watching;
  • Give credit to your chosen music accordingly.
