Photos and Videos: Discover Forgotten Memories

Why do we capture photos or record videos? We do it to remember special moments, to discover forgotten memories from our past.

If you are like me, it would be to capture what you felt in that moment and hope it would last forever.

But what really happens after the photos are taken. It gets lost in the pile of all our other photo collections. And that special moment is forgotten along with the emotions of a treasured memory.

How would your Children remember their Forgotten Photos Memories of Childhood Years

Memories are like little chapters of our life’s captured moments through time. Exploring them creates an emotional excitement that brings a special kind of joy. These memories captured could be priceless treasures that your children may discover their childhood talents and bliss. Forgotten memories that could inspire them in their future. I know this because my own memories were captured by my mum.

For me, now I always encourage family time and let my children talk and share their hopes and dreams as they see it in their mind. Most of the time my nine year old son wants to remember all our fun adventures and aspires to be a parent like us and to have his own children. So I take our Photobook of “Our Family Year in Review” and Video Slideshow of our trip to Sydney and reminisce our special moments to share how we each felt.

The Challenge

One of the challenges facing many families is finding time to sort your photo memories and using various technology to save them. Thousands of photos are taken daily of our children, our vacations and our special family events but along the way it becomes too overwhelming and we lose control. And often end up with our memories left on our cameras, our SD cards, smartphones or iPads and even on our computers. What happens if it crashes?

How would you Preserve and Save Your Photo Memories

Now it the time to start organising and saving your photos. Set sometime to declutter your photos. This is a process for me too and I am happy to say that I have managed it and have the interest of my son to help me. I love both photo slideshows and printed photos as both create an emotional experience with a difference.

  1. Photo slideshows awakens your emotions and takes you back in time to experience those special moments;
  2. Photobooks enhances family bond and helps people remember through visual story telling. This runs deep in me because two member of my extended family have been diagnosed with Dementia;
  3. Printed Canvases and framed photos of my family and children displayed in prominent place in my home help to strengthen family pride.

Before you can create all these beautiful keepsakes to have in your home, you must organise and save your photos before they become lost in your day to day activities.

Take control of your photos and bring them back into your life. In this way, you honour life and respect your journey!
