Sharing your Gifts with the World

First Holy Communion

My son celebrated his Sacrements of Confirmation and Holy Communion in June this year. Confirmation is the Rite of Intiation in sealing the gifts of the Holy Spirit within us, through our faith.

These special gifts and talents, are to be discovered and shared with our connection to everyone. As the Bishop said to all the kids, accept these gifts, unwrap them and learn to use them in your life; these gifts of Wisdom, Understanding, Right Judgement, Courage, Knowledge, Reverence, Wonder or Awesome. Big powerful words for an 8 year old. But … this is where my responsibility comes in, to guide, nurture and lead him through his discovery. Why is it so important to nurture these gifts? Because they will direct him to make wise choices and be responsible for these choices as a witness to his faith.

Be Sealed with the Gifts of the Spirit

See, much of the answers we seek, truly lies within us. All we have to do is to listen with our heart and our eyes. We already have everything we need in abundant supply. It is for us to discover them in our journey, filled with some awesome adventures. All we truly need is to have a bit of faith in ourselves.

My son has an awesome Godpa who will be a great influence in his growing life. Thank you, Chris for coming all the way down from Sydney, truly appreciate you being here and Jeremy has been on the Moon since before you came here. A very special thank you to Victoria and Derran for coming all the way from Byron Bay and taking photos for me.

What’s next? Go forth and discover your talents, let no one step on you or define who you are. Only you have the right to that.

Oh and Remember, make your life extraordinary … Good Journey!!
