The Emotional Side of Creating Videos

heartSince the advent of MTV – Music Television in the 80s, music and videos have always been my first love. What made a music video meaningful to me was a story that weaved its way into my heart. Back then, my dream was always to create my own videos with yours truly, singing lead in my own rock band.

Fast forward to the present and video is in my blood, making its way to front stage viewing in many homes and businesses.

Creating videos to me must always include a combination of visuals: video clips, still images, text and captions, audios and off course music synchronized to the most important ingredient, your message. A multimedia level type presentation is one of the most powerful ways to emotionally influence your audience by sharing a message to engage them.

Why Emotional?

We are all emotional beings, with a huge capacity to feel through our 5 senses where it gives us various experiences into different levels of Connections!

Love, Romance or a touching and inspiring story will most often ignite or emotions and give meaning to our internal experience of excitement. It is simply the Wow Factor within us that will move us to a magnificent experience.

We all have our 5 senses to connect with the world around us. This is known as The Human Touch and two of them are crucial when using videos. Sight and sound!

It is said that the eyes are the windows to your soul and what you see can influence what you feel within you. When music is added to visuals, it ignites our emotions to the wonders of limitless possibilities of experiences where it can influence a behaviour towards action. In other words, we connect to what we see and feel in our hearts. Technology has broken our boundaries to the world where we can connect seamlessly with no limits. Now imagine the possibilities available to us.

So Why Use Videos?

Creating video shortens the time it takes for others to read an article. Because of your time restraints, you go straight to the point to tell your message to an eager audience wanting to know more of what you can do to help them solve a problem. It also gives them the opportunity to get to know you as a person and slowly you build a relationship with them. These are ways you can share your messages in videos.

  • To show how passionate you are about your cause and purpose in life;
  • To show what you do or how you do it;
  • To show how, what you do affects others;
  • To make a difference in the world;
  • To spread a powerful message;
  • To educate the masses of people in the world.

When people see you, they get to know you and learn to trust you. Words give meaning and expression in the way we communicate and connect to others. But in using videos, we have the opportunity to go a step further to reveal our true nature in the person that we truly are and when people connect with you, you begin to build a relationship of trust with them. They are emotionally connected to you and are engaged to your story in a memorable way which helps them to recall you and your business. Videos give you the opportunity to create your message to share with a wider audience and this can make a difference.

How would you tell your compelling story? By creating a visual and emotional experience, they will never forget. Using a location that will generate a feeling of peace and calm in their heart.

What would you like your viewers to feel about your purpose or your cause? Tell them a story to capture their attention and it will reveal your passion so that they can feel your energy as they witness your amazing talent.

Videos when executed with the right message, can show your purpose and visions to help create a better world. And when you integrate this message into your video, you open the frequency to touch their heart and soul, to evoke joy and make a difference in their life.
