Using Video as part of your Marketing Strategy?

ID-10019435Back in the 80s, MTV ruled my world as a teenager. I loved watching my favourite rock groups as they released new music videos. From Boy George to Duran Duran and many others, their videos captured my attention because it had a story to tell.

Fast forward to the future, online video is growing as a popular medium for people to access any information they need. What does this mean for small businesses like us?

It means that video is becoming a huge part of content marketing which we need to take advantage of and use.

What is it about videos that captures engagement?

People can see you and feel an emotional attachment or engage with your story. They learn to trust you. It is your expression that will make a connection to them and create a locked memory. In turn, people who are most engaged will share your videos with others for various reasons because it touched them and maybe they may even become your clients. This is the potential you need to capitalise on.

What would they remember? It is all about the experience.

Memories are engraved by experiences of our senses, triggered by visuals or other senses. So when certain senses are stimulated in your videos, you create trust and more importantly loyalty.

Vision is one of our senses and when your video ignites this sense, the reality is potentially your gain. I prefer to watch an interesting video because it connects me to feel if a product or service is worth my attention. When a video is shared through various social media channels, creating awareness becomes endless.

Who is your audience? What are their motivational drives?

When you understand this, your ideas must be felt in your message and spoken in a visual language that your audience will understand. People remember from memories and experiences.

So what is stopping you from using video in your business?
