Using Video to Engage your Audience

We all have a story to tell either about ourselves or our business.

What would you include as part of your story?

Well…if you think about it, I am sure you would include everything that has brought you to this place in time.

HERE & NOW

Whatever that story may be, one thing for sure, we own it and we should be proud of it.

I recently gave my son a video camcorder for his birthday with a special recorded message for him. And whenever, he is not looking, I steal a peak of him watching my message, to see his amazing smile that lights him up.

How would you feel when you watch that video as it leaps off your TV, your computer, ipad or iphone?

Pretty awesome!!

Imagine the impact you leave on your audience as you change their vision into an emotional rush of excitement.

To stimulate your audience, you would need to consider including these points.

  1. Address you audience;
  2. Include a message;
  3. Create a Story line;
  4. Choose appropriate music;
  5. Take you Audience on an emotional journey to the next level.

When you combine all these and inject your personallity and passion into your video, you give them an emotional experience to remember you.

Lets have a look at how we process information.

Why is this so important to know?

Because…we all process information differently based from our past experience in life and this gives evidence to show that we all have different concerntration spans. The monotony of watching a video can affect your audience engagement.

  • Some people are visual while others audio;
  • Some see images/shapes while others like to read;
  • Stimulation to each side of the brain can impact your message across to them.

Video may be a medium used widely but when created in a powerful way, can literally unwrap the hearts of many and deeply impact the experience, in the most exciting way that will leave your audience in awe.

This is known as the WOW Factor!!!

With this in mind, how and what would you include, to create a video to engage your audience?
