Where to Begin Organising and Preserving your Digital Photos

Start organising your digital photos, today.

Where do you keep your photos? Are they still in your digital camera or iphone?

On your hard drive or usb?

I love taking photos because they account for important life memories that tell the story of our journey in life. Why is this important?

Because it is proof of our growth and achievements in life, a visual of our past that can inspire us to appreciate our existance.

But do you find sorting your photos overwhelming?

I do … it is overwhelming because of the emotional story behind the memory of that photo. It is natural to feel this way. And that is precisely why I would like to address this issue with organising our precious photos and bringing them back to life. It takes time and it is a journey which will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. But you are not alone as I am here to give you tips that will help you make that start, one step at a time.

How are you going to sort out all your photos and where do you start?

3 Simple Tips for Gathering all your Digital Photos

  1. Designate one computer or laptop (but not both) to house all your photos;
  2. Make sure you label your computer so it becomes a permanent home for your photos – Eg “Laverty Family Photos”;
  3. Download all photos off your digital cameras, iphones, ipad, smart phones, usb etc…

This is your first and most important step in organising your digital photos. Make a habit and a goal to schedule time to download your photos every month. This goal is to ensure you start to organise your photo life. When you begin to declutter this area in your life, you find clarity and begin to enjoy this journey down memory lane and see the real inspiring stories in your family life.
